Throughout our representative republic, paralegals (also called legal assistants) have a number of professional organizations that have taken the role of “guardian angel”. One such organization; a relative newcomer, that has risen to national prominence very quickly (it began in 2003) is the American Alliance of Paralegals Inc (AAPI). AAPI’s fast ascent to prominence may be traced to the fact that it was the first national organization that focused primarily on the establishment of minimum educational requirements. In addition, members that wish to have a say in policy (given a vote) must meet particular guidelines through both real world experience and on an educational basis.
Pivotal criteria to remember when examining the caliber of any paralegal program:
1. Paralegal schools should educate students with the primary objective being to development the entire student. This needs to be done by teaching usable, sensible workforce skills alongside a solid core of legal theory. The curriculum should encompass topics like torts and legal contracts, legal writing and contracts, litigation and legal research. Organizational and communication skills must be developed in addition to a student’s capacity to think critically and apply the legal theory into real world situations. A high quality paralegal school will also provide the opportunity to learn through programs like an internship or clinical experience.
2. Who are players behind the scenes? Who put the paralegal curriculum together and who is teaching it? Do the staff and the paralegal schools program director have top notch credentials? The paralegal teaching staff should have field experience in the subject they are teaching be considered an “expert” on that subject. The curriculum director should have an advanced degree in a related field at worst but preferably they have a law degree or a bunch of paralegal work experience and an advanced paralegal degree.
3. The latest fad in learning is to learn online through the internet but is this right learning environment for you or should you stick with the traditional brick and mortar classroom? The aforementioned is just one of the many questions you need to answer before pursuing your online paralegal degree. Another vital question that needs answered is how will you receive your training? Will it be web-based or through interactive video or whatever is the latest and greatest technological advance. Regardless of the delivery method it comes down to this; “Is online learning right for you?” If yes; jump right in because the benefits in convenience and cost are many but if not, then don’t do it. Simply go out and find the best brick and mortar paralegal school near you.
If you want a career, not just a job and you have the internal strength and drive to push yourself the paralegal field is ripe for the picking. A paralegal offers status, fair wages and a growing job market for those will the talent and skills to match up with the endless opportunities.

As you view loan modification picks you will understand that banks of course do not wish to have such agreements if they can be avoided and the loan owners are not required to modify loans. Thus,if you want a loan modification, if you want to avoid foreclosure, you must make the first movement.
If you do decide to move forward, your home loan mod expert should ask a few of the following questions:
1. What percentage of yourgrossincome (your income before tax deductions) is now devoted to housing costs, meaning mortgage principal, interest, taxes and insurance ? PITI.
2. How much could you pay each month if PITI was limited to 38 percent of your gross income?
3. How much could you pay each month if PITI was limited to31 percentof your gross income? This is an important question because the FDIC has been using a 31-percent benchmark when modifying loans made by IndyMac, the lender taken over by the FDIC in 2008. The 31-percent standard has now spread to other programs.
4. What are your assets? Include such items as savings accounts, IRAs, other retirement accounts, certificates of deposit, stock, bonds, vehicles, other real estate. Be sure to include account numbers, the date when valued, contact information for the account holder such as a brokerage or bank, balances and required payments.
5. What is the value of your home? Local real estate brokers may be willing to help provide a general valuation on a pro bono basis with a comparative market analysis (CMA)or abroker?s price opinion (BPO)? it?s good PR for the broker and you could be a future source of referrals and business.
6. What are your debts? Include credit cards with account numbers, account information, total debt and required monthly payments. Also, student debts, auto loans, other mortgages, etc. Again, show account numbers, balances, required payments and contact information.
7. What are your typical monthly expenses for utilities, condo fees, gasoline, health insurance, child care, alimony, etc.
Next you must be able to come up with the home loan mod fee which can vary from $2000-$4000. Several companies offer home loan mod financing if you cant afford the inital fee.

The inspections carried out in 2007/08 by the HSE showed about 52% of workers losing their lives while working in refurbishment and maintenance sector. The same sector has emerged as the most dangerous for workers in a recent nationwide inspection carried out by the HSE. 20 percent of the construction sites visited were slapped with notices as they failed to meet the minimum safety requirements.
The inspection was carried out in March, with HSE officers visiting 1,759 sites, being run by over 2000 contractors. The sites were inspected to see if they were complying with the health and safety regulations.
The results of the inspection showed about 348 sites posing serious risks to the workers. Contractors of these sites were issued notices to either stop the work immediately or make improvements for the safety of the staff. About 500 enforcement notices were issued as part of the drive.
This year’s inspections showed improvements in some parts of the country compared to last year when inspectors had issued similar enforcement notices to 30% of the sites.
The Chief Inspector of Construction for the HSE, Phillip White, said that it was very disappointing to find non-compliance of safety regulations despite the publicity that was given to the inspection. The inspectors found the working conditions so far below the satisfactory level that ultimately they had to take actions against one out of every five sites.
Work done at heights was still a major concern for the HSE. As in the previous year, this time too about half of the enforcement actions had to be taken regarding works involving heights. Last year, work at heights had resulted in 34 deaths among construction workers.

Making personal injury claim compensation is really fruitful in claiming monitory aid and compensation from the party responsible for the alleged wrong doing to the victim. The value of any personal injury claim depends on the facts and circumstances of your case. First, you have to determine whether the “defendant” - that is, the party that is responsible for creating the dangerous condition that caused the accident is liable. The next consideration is whether you were at fault and, if so, how much as compared to the “defendant.” Under Florida law and under various laws, the jury is allowed to compare the negligence of the defendant to your negligence, if any.
Florida personal injury law history is witness to many cases where the actual financial claims have taken shape. For example, a 2.59 million dollar jury verdict was upheld against the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Central Parking for the negligence of a valet driver pinning a pedestrian between cars. A former Penn State track star was swimming in an unlit swimming pool. dove underwater through a rubber inner tube, hit the bottom head first, and became a quadriplegic for life. There was no warning about proper diving safety, even surface diving. There were no lights. And, the owners of the pool were libel. The swimming pool manufacturer should provide warnings to consumers about diving shallow and “steering up” when surface diving in residential pools. Both were held liable. The victim received more than 8 million dollars.
Personal injury settlements can be achieved only through a thorough and skillful handling of the related case. Florida is among one of the top states where personal injury lawyers make these things happen.
