An Australian Experience

We just returned from Australia! Awesome country. Here are some hints to help you to get the most out of a vacation, based on our experiences:

Fly directly into Melbourne for the lowest priced air fare. At the time we went it was cheaper by $175 compared to any of the other airports

Try to go in their winter months, our summer, unless you’re only going for the surfing. It’s possible to purchase prices for $100 less in winter. In the south the temperatures are still about 70 degrees, great for walking around experiencing the scenery.

If you want directions and/or ideas for places to visit visit the tourist information centers. They are really excellent.

Rent a car! Seriously, you need to ?rent? a car. Exploring about in Australia is so easy if you lease a car. Hiring a car is fast and simple and will help save you money in addition to allowing you to discover so much more of the place. Allow me to share some prices:

Car hire Melbourne (far South): $36 to $71 per day.

Car rental Gold Coast (around Brisbane, the famous surf area): $34 to $60 per day.

Car hire Darwin (far North): $42 to $60 per day.

We made a straight line to car hire Melbourne at the air terminal right after arriving. The rental process was so rapid we were on the highway in only fifteen minutes. Approximately an hour?s journey from Melbourne are the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges. Well worth a visit, as are the numerous museums that Melbourne provides.

Brisbane was the next stop on our itinerary. We travelled from Melbourne and the moment we hit the ground made straight for the car rental Gold Coast. Then we drove all over the Gold Coast. It was awe-inspiring, and there were loads of excellent seafood restaurants.

From Brisbane we flew to Darwin. You’ve beaten me to it! Number one priority. Visit the folks at car hire Darwin and then drive to Mindil Beach Sunset Market. The weather was warmer here, in the 90?s, but with breezes off the sea, it didn?t seem that hot. The car was a blessing as hanging around for a taxi or coach in that heat would have been torture.

I just can’t wait to return. It was a fantastic vacation but there really wasn’t time to fit everything in

My Australian Vacation

One of the nicest holidays I ever took was a tour of the Australian coast between Sydney and Melbourne. There was beautiful scenery, heaps of things to do and sociable Australian people.

With plenty of car rental Sydney and car rental Melbourne alternatives along the coast, hiring a car is the most convenient way to make your way around. Car hire agencies are more than willing to assist you plan your trip and pin point the main tourist attractions along the way. I found a great deal travelling from Sydney to Melbourne just by doing a quick search online.

I began my journey by heading south from Sydney through the Royal National Park. I was blown away by the Grand Pacific Drive, it was breathtaking. I took my time exploring coastal villages and spent a couple hours in the bustling city of Wollongong before ending for the night at Jervis Bay.

Jervis Bay is known for their dolphin population, I took a cruise the next morning to experience watching the dolphins swimming just metres away from the boat, truly awesome. The immaculate white sand beaches made it extremely difficult to leave given that I am visiting from England. Further south I picked up some great, high quality craft items in the historic villages of Central Tilba and Tilba Tilba.

I swam in the lagoon at Mimosa Rocks National Park and then drove a little further stopping to watch surfers at Tathra Beach. That evening I stayed in the trendy village of Metung and had a tremendous seafood platter in one of the lakeside restaurants.

Wilsons Promontory National Park is home to great scenery and an abundance of wildlife such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats. I spent an entire day hiking through eucalypt forests, exploring beaches and coves and climbing on granite mountains.

Next destination was Fish Creek, a tiny, quirky and thriving town with arts and crafts, books and cafes. I took the bridge over to Phillip Island, a popular family stop. At Nobbies Centre you can watch the penquins strutting up and down the beach and see one of Australia’s largest fur seal settlements.

As initially planned, I ended my trip in Melbourne making my last stop at the heritage farm on Churchill Island. Renting a car was a convenient and fun way to do this awesome coastal drive from Sydney to Melbourne. Next time I may get a car rental in Melbourne and do this trip the other direction!

You Should Purchase Holiday Insurance and Relish in Your Well Protected Break

When booking a trip abroad, travel insurance is often viewed as a omissible consideration, and the action of booking plane tickets and hotels is often at the forefront of peoples minds. Some people do not even take holiday insurance. Not getting a policy prior togoing away is a terrible mistake, as you will be losing out on the many benefits and necessary protections that it provides.

Possibly the biggest component of all is medical insurance. Whilst abroad, you are not insured for medical expenses without holiday insurance.Should you become sick or be victim of an unfortunate event, you are likely to be liable for the total medical invoice. This could quite easily run into thousands of dollars. The fact that you are on vacation in a foreign country raises your probabilities of getting ill or having an accident. Not only are you unfamiliar with your local surroundings, but you are consuming exotic food, and you are exposed to unknown bacteria and germs.

Secondly, insurance policies are available which cover you for trip cancellations. Issues at home, or adverse weather and travel problems can all mean that you may be incapable to take your trip. The expense of cancelling when you don’t have insurance to cover you can be enormous. This stress and expense can all be avoided by having a efficient travel insurance policy.

Holiday insurance can also cover you for costs of delays. Often flights can be delayed for hours, even weeks, leaving you stranded in a unknown country. in the meantime, you will have to buy for meals, accommodation, clothing and transportation. A comprehensive policy coversthis for you, allowing you to enjoy your extra few days on holiday.

There are several other smaller benefits of having holiday insurance, such as lost, stolen, and damaged luggage and personal items. This is particularly advantageous when you are travelling to regions with high high levels of crime. You can also have legal costs taken care of, should you be involved in any kind of incident which results being fined orbeing sued. You can even get insurance for any impairment to a car hire.

Price is one of the firstreasons that individuals reject travel insurance, but considering all the potential costs that can be incurred by not buying insurance, taking out a travel insurance is really a very wise and judicious investment.
