How to Play Blackjack in Vegas
Blackjack is one of the most popular casino card games in Las Vegas thanks to its simple rules and availability of low and high stakes games. The key to playing Blackjack in Vegas or any casino is to play the same way every time. The dealer must “hit” on any hand with a value less than 17. Since you only need to beat the dealer’s hand, it is often a good idea to stand with lower hands and let the dealer bust. Always assume the the dealer’s face-down card is a 10 or a face card. If the dealer’s face-up card is less than a 7, stand on any hand with a value higher than 12 since there’s a good chance that the dealer will bust. If the dealer has a face-up card of a 7 or higher, hit until you have at least 17. Never hit on 17; it’s just too risky.

Slow playing when short By rob stephens One way to guarantee action with a good hand is to slow play. What better spot to take a slow playing gamble then when you are low on chips? Really, when you’re getting short, what have you got to lose? If you had a big stack and decided to limp in early position with AA, you’re taking a big gamble. You could let 3 or more players in against you with the opportunity cost of your deep stack on the line. You’d rather win a small pot with a big stack than risk losing a big one for no reason. But when you’re under 10BBs, why not try to milk the situation? If it’s successful then you can double or triple up; maybe even more. Limping might also give someone else the motivation to raise and then you’d get some isolation with your big hand. If you get 2 or 3 callers, your hand is probably the best band you just need them to miss. And if it’s unsuccessful, it was probably only a matter of time before you bled away and busted out. When you’re low, there’s nothing to protect. You have to accumulate. You could be super aggressive with any hand, or you can get tricky with the big ones.
