Have you ever wondered if search engine optimization is worth the money people pay for it? According to SEMPO (the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization) more than $1 billion was spent on American SEO services in 2009. And that is just the “organic” SEO, not paid search management services. Search engine optimization is big business and many companies have tied some or all of their revenues to the success of search engine optimization. So imagine how angry these companies might be to learn that they have been duped by snake oil SEO tricks.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what has happened to many companies that have worked with SEO consultants who practice or preach the shaky concept of PageRank sculpting. Now thoroughly discredited by Google itself, PageRank sculpting is a shady SEO tactic developed in 2007 by incompetent SEOs who did not know how to get the right pages on Websites to rank for company names. Instead of fixing easily resolved site organization issues these bad SEOs broke the sites’ navigation systems to hide the pages they could not properly manage.
Many people have pointed out that Google employees have advised people not to practice PageRank sculpting since 2007. And the reason Googlers have tried to persuade the SEO community to abandon this harmful practice was finally disclosed over the summer of 2009. At an SEO conference, Google employee Matt Cutts announced that so many Websites were being harmed by PageRank sculpting that Google felt compelled to take an extraordinary measure: either in late 2007 or early 2008 Google changed the way it calculates PageRank for internal links to prevent PageRank sculpting from doing any more harm.
What is both sad and laughable is that all through the time Google’s change was unnanounced, everyone who favored PageRank sculpting insisted that their tests proved it WAS working. These idiots could not even see that their PageRank sculpting was being ignored by Google! So why should anyone believe their cracked ideas now as they roll out New! and Improved! PageRank sculpting?
If you’re doing business with an SEO who wants you to sculpt your PageRank you should run far, far away as fast as you can. You can only expect to lose valuable traffic from their sculpting. It’s possible that other things the PageRank sculpting SEOs do will make up for their stupid tricks, but why would you want to spin your wheels like that?

Most advices on search engine optimisation Melbourne say that you have to get as many articles about your website out on the internet to be able to boost your traffic and rank high on search engines. But the process of spreading the word through articles and submissions to free other web sites is not an easy task. You can’t just submit the same article over and over again as this will eventually hurt your rankings in search engines. Actually, there are a number of reasons why content shouldn’t be duplicated. Basically, search engines require you to remove duplicate content so they will be able to index the pages that contain the best content. Who would want to use a search engine that only gives you the same content over and over again, right? This is why search engines like Google immediately removes a link from their search list if they detect it as having duplicate and non-original content.
But what if all your articles are original and you find out that your content has been duplicated by other sites? As a “preventative measure” to protect your web site’s content, you can file a copyright for your web site with the US Government if you are located in the United States. If you come form other countries, there are also various places where you can register a copyright.

Once again it seems that the internet is controlled not by quite a monopoly, but I wonder how long it will be before it is one. Currently there are a lot of products out there to help guide these major search engines to your websites. Luckily, we are far from a monopoly on the companies that can produce free ppc software. I recently tried one of these packages and received some great results from the major search engines. I suppose if we can figure out the tricks of the major companies then we only have a few to figure out instead of a plethora of them and it is easier to make money.
For years I had been surfing the internet and it finally came time for me to start making money off the internet like I am seeing so many of my friends doing. With a little help from the ppc search engine internet marketing I was able to put together a wonderful website that used all the tricks I was told about. Through the marketing my site consisted of all the ways to keep traffic heavy and constant to my web page and through that the clicks just came rolling in. It was amazing to see how fast the clicks build on each other.

I hear this all the time. “I can get you listed on 100,000 websites for $29.95″ and…”I can get you 100,000 hits on your website for the same price”. Avoid these like the plague.
First off you don’t need a 100,000 visitors to your site. What you need is 100,000 CUSTOMERS on your site searching for your product or service. Very simply you’re not going to find many people doing this for you. DocMurdock will do this. Our mission is to find people looking for your product or service and bring them to your website so that you can sell them. While we don’t guarantee more sales, we’ll get you people who want your product to come and look-see. If your sales message is clear, you’ll sell them. We help with this as well.
How do we do this? We evaluate your site for things that pull people in. Things that are magnets for people and attract them to stay on your site vs. things that repel them and send them to your competition. We also scour the web for those people and lead them to your site so they’ll buy your product or service.
If you have an auto parts site and people show up looking to buy flowers…you’re sales will not increase. If you have flowers and they show up to buy flowers…you’re in the money. This is our objective. More sales for your company. More revenue. This is why we term what we do “Revenue Optimization” not Website Optimization. Kids optimize websites, and there are a lot of kids out there doing it. But…all the hits in the world are not going to increase your revenue, if they’re not from people searching for your product.
With us, your hit counter may actually go down. It’s not a bad thing, it just means that the people who are actually looking for your product or service are finally coming to your site. Another of our objectives is to increase the stay time of visitors. If they’re there for less than a minute…sales will dwindle. If we put things in the right places, give them a call to action, ask them to do something, we keep them there. The longer a potential client is on your site, the more apt they are to purchase something.
Give them a reason to stay there. Offer them something free, ask them to subscribe to a newsletter, buy something, see something, get something for free…there are many ways to keep a customer on your site. Use attractive colors. Go out and see what the hottest websites are using for color schemes. Do those fit your business or your brand? Who are you using for branding and marketing? Check out www.howstudios.com for the best in the business. Howard Lim. Give him a call and tell him I referred you. He’s great, and what he will create for you will help your business convey an image of greatness, one that will sell your product quickly.
100,000 websites…MYTH. There are really only 5 to be concerned with. One of them is listed to the right; GOOGLE the others vary from time to time, but keep in mind MSN, YAHOO, ALEXA, DOGPILE as some primary candidates to submit your site to.
Good luck and may your website rise higher every day.

You may have heard how important it is to have your website optimized for search engines, especially Google, which is currently the most popular worldwide. The reason for this is so your website will be ranked high in the search engines and people will see your site first, click on it, and increase your traffic and ultimately your sales. You might think this all sounds like a wonderful idea and want to get your web site optimized for Google, but you may have no idea how to go about it. Don’t worry, getting your web page ready for the Google search engine is not as difficult as you might have thought. Google has a system called PageRank that ranks the different web pages according to different standards. When you learn the standards you will know how to best optimize your page to get a high ranking in Google.
Tip #1 Search Engine Spamming
If you want to get a long term, high ranking with Google it is important not to spam. The reason for this is Google will blacklist you from their index and not list your URL. Also, most other web search engines operate the same way. Learn what is considered as spamming so you can avoid doing this.
Tip #2 Links
The more links you have on the Web that point to your website means the higher ranking you will receive on Google. This is because Google gives preference to sites with more links on the Web, so make sure you work hard to increase the links to your website that exist on the Web.
Tip #3 Keywords
Keywords are another major consideration if you want to get a high ranking with Google. The reason for this is that Google searches for the keywords that are related to your website and then ranks your website for those keyword phrases. If you have a website that is optimized for many keywords related to your niche, you’ll attract tons of free, targeted search engine traffic.
Tip #4 Do not Use Frames
Google does not support websites with frames very well, so if your website utilizes frames you run a risk that your site will not rank well with Google or even get indexed at all. Get rid of those frames if you want Google to list all of the pages on your website!
Tip #5 More Text
Google searches for text, not photos or images. Make sure that you keep your content keyword rich and accurate. Keep the graphics to a minimum as well because the more images you have, the less text you have, the fewer keywords Google will be able to search for, and the longer your web pages will take to load.
Tip #6 Links
Make sure all pages within your site have their own URL or otherwise Google will have problems picking up and ranking these pages.
